Ways to Support Singing City
Excellence in performance demands excellence in support. As we begin our exciting 64th Season, Singing City is building upon its rich heritage of mission and music to present a full calendar of performance, community, education and outreach events.

These programs would not happen without the loyal and generous support of individuals and foundations and the thousands who purchase tickets. We are proud to note the following foundations who support Singing City.

Annual Friends Drive 2011-2012

What is the Friends Drive?
It's the financial foundation necessary to support the programs and operations of Singing City and is essential in meeting our annual budget requirements.

Why does Singing City need to have an annual appeal for funds?
Similar to your own finances, our income sources are limited. We depend upon ticket sales, government and foundation grants, and most importantly, individual support.

How much does Singing City need?
This year's goal is $80,000 in individual gifts. This represents about 26% of our total operating budget.

Who contributes to our Annual Friends Drive?
We look to our members, Board, and past members and friends to make an annual gift. We depend upon people who are passionate about music and the arts and recognize its importance in their lives.

How will my gift be spent?
Your gift ensures the continuation of Singing City's mission of performance, education and outreach.
A gift to our Friends Drive provides needed funding for all of Singing City's programs– excellent choral performances in the Philadelphia region as well as choral composition and singing in area schools in need (SCIS), our choral composition competition, the Singing City Prize for Young Composers and the Singing City Children's Choir.

How can I help?
Your tax deductible gift, large or small, helps to sustain our programs and is important to us, regardless of the amount. You can send a check to Singing City, 123 S. 17th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103, or make a gift online using Paypal.

Can my employer match my gift?
Yes. More than 2,000 companies offer employee matches to contributions. Check with your Human Resources office to see if a match is possible.

Thank you!

A Simple Gift: The Singing City Endowment and The Legacy Fund

Download bequest information

You might want to make a gift to the Singing City endowment, but now is not the right time for you. Keep it simple. Make a bequest or deferred gift to the Choir. Your bequest will support the Choir’s endowment, which in turn will help strengthen the Choir’s ability to retain and attract the very best staff, provide ongoing support for Singing City in the Schools and the Singing City Children's Choir, stabilize the operational budget and establish a financial aid fund so that everyone in the choir can participate in retreats and go on tour.

This kind of generosity sustains programs, improves services, and impacts and enhances lives. One way to continue to make a difference and perpetuate your generosity is by making a charitable bequest, a simple case of including Singing City in your will according to your intentions. This is just as important as current giving, maybe even more so, because it sets an example for others to emulate. It can be as easy as setting aside a specific amount or percentage of your estate. Keep it simple: make a bequest to Singing City. Your gift will be gratefully received and wisely used.

If you would like to include Singing City in your planning, please contact Lauren Anderson at 215-569-9067 or by e-mail at lauren@singingcity.org.

Thank you for your support!
